Prices and appointments
Legal Insight’s standard rate is £45 per hour.
This rate applies to:
Initial consultations
Administrative case-preparation work
Document organisation and preparation
Online appointments
Telephone appointments
Face-to-face appointments
Before additional work begins, the client receives a written description of the agreed work, an estimate of the time required and a maximum authorised cost.
Legal Insight will not exceed the agreed limit without pausing the work, explaining why additional time may be required and obtaining the client’s written approval.
A limited number of reduced-fee appointments may be available following an individual affordability assessment and subject to capacity. TFC is a private practice and does not receive government funding for this service.
Before sending any documents
Please do not send documents with your initial enquiry.
Your first email or WhatsApp message should contain only a brief summary of:
The type of administrative support you are seeking
Any important upcoming date or deadline
Whether a solicitor or another authorised professional is already involved
Please do not send screenshots, private conversations, photographs, evidence bundles, court papers, medical information or other sensitive documents unless Legal Insight has expressly requested them.
After an initial conversation and scope assessment, Legal Insight will confirm:
Whether the requested work falls within the service boundary
Which documents are required
The order in which they should be provided
The approved and secure method for providing them
Preparing documents in advance does not mean that they should be sent immediately. Please wait for express instructions.
Never provide original documents
Legal Insight does not accept original documents for storage or safekeeping.
Please never post, deliver or leave original court papers, certificates, correspondence, identification documents, medical records or other important records with Legal Insight.
Where documents are requested, clients should retain their originals and normally provide clear copies, scans or photographs.
If you cannot safely make copies or digital images, please explain this during your initial conversation. Where appropriate, an appointment may be arranged to inspect the documents and agree a suitable copying process. Any copying or photography must follow TFC’s approved privacy and document-handling procedures.
Document preparation checklist
This checklist is provided so that you can locate and organise potentially relevant documents before your appointment. Do not send them until Legal Insight requests them.
When requested, the usual order is:
Official decisions and current orders
Court orders, tribunal decisions, official notices or other documents confirming the present legal position.
Correspondence from regulated professionals and authorities
Letters and emails from solicitors, barristers, courts, tribunals, the police, the Crown Prosecution Service, the Home Office or another relevant authority.
Existing formal documents
Applications, reports, assessments, previous statements or documents already prepared by an authorised professional.
A basic chronology
A short list of important dates and events, using approximate dates where the precise date is not known.
Supporting communications and other material
Relevant messages, emails, screenshots, photographs or records requested by Legal Insight.
Please do not export or send entire WhatsApp conversations or large collections of screenshots unless specifically requested. Sending excessive, duplicated, unsorted or unrelated material increases the time needed to review and organise the information and may increase the cost.
How the service and costs are controlled
1. Enquiry and scope screening
Send a brief summary of the support you require. Do not send case documents at this stage. Legal Insight will assess whether the request falls within the service boundary.
2. Initial consultation and document checklist
The initial consultation is charged at the standard rate of £45 per hour. The purpose is to understand the request, identify the most important information and confirm which documents should be prepared or supplied.
3. Estimate and agreed maximum
If further work is appropriate, you will receive a written description of the work, an estimated time requirement and a maximum authorised cost.
The estimate will be based on the amount, condition and organisation of the information disclosed at that stage.
4. Changes, missing information and additional material
An estimate assumes that the requested documents will be supplied in the agreed order.
Missing, duplicated, unlabelled, late or excessive material may require additional time. If this affects the agreed scope or cost, Legal Insight will explain the change before undertaking work beyond the authorised limit.
5. Progress notification and further approval
Legal Insight will monitor the time used against the agreed limit.
If additional work appears necessary, the work will be paused. You will receive an updated explanation, revised estimate and new maximum cost. Work will continue only after your written approval.
Estimate → agreed maximum → pause → revised quotation → written approval
Important service boundary
Legal Insight provides specialist administrative case-preparation support. It is not a law firm and does not provide solicitor representation, independent legal advice or legal strategy.
Clients remain responsible for checking the factual accuracy of working documents. Where appropriate, documents should also be reviewed by the client’s solicitor or another authorised professional.
