Please, Please, Please … Use the Resources I Have Written for You
I am going to say this very directly today:
Please, please, please read my writings.
Many of you come to me privately with questions about your life, your emotional well-being, relationships, feeling stuck, not knowing what to do next, trying to understand yourself, or simply trying to find a little more clarity in the middle of everything that is happening around you.
And I love that you trust me enough to ask.
But I also want to remind you that I have already written so much for you.
There are books. There are mini books. There are exercises. There are blog posts. There are even free downloads available for you.
Please use them.
They may be mini books, but the work isn't mini
Don't allow the word mini to make you think these are something you will quickly read and forget.
They aren't.
Some of these books are intense. They ask you to stop, think, write, question yourself and actually do some work with yourself.
Return to Self, for example, took me approximately two months to write. Not because it is an enormous book, but because while I was writing it, I was doing the work too.
I wasn't sitting somewhere telling other people how they should live.
I was writing, reflecting, questioning and applying things to my own life as I went along.
That is one of the reasons these writings mean so much to me.
I created them to be used.
Don't just read them once
Print the PDF if that works better for you.
Write on it.
Highlight something.
Come back to an exercise.
Put it down for a week and pick it up again.
Read a page on one of those days when your thoughts are everywhere.
Keep it somewhere accessible.
These materials were written as life companions, things you can return to as your circumstances, understanding and emotional state change.
Something you read today may mean something completely different six months from now.
And yes, if you prefer holding an actual book in your hands, paperback versions are available through Amazon too. You can find the information and links on the Products page.
Before you send me that question…
This is also my little challenge to those of you who regularly come to me privately with your questions.
Before you send the message, have a look at what I have already written.
You might discover that Marcia has already answered you!
And more importantly, you may discover that instead of me immediately giving you my perspective, one of the exercises helps you find your own answer.
That matters to me.
TFC has never been about creating people who need Marcia every time something happens.
I want you to develop your own ability to stop, think, question, understand yourself and make decisions with greater clarity.
Sometimes you will still need support. Sometimes you may need a deep session. Sometimes you may need an appropriate medical, psychological, legal or other professional service.
But sometimes you may simply need a resource that helps you sit with yourself for a while.
I have created those resources.
Please use them.
And when you buy one, talk to me
And notice I said when, not if. 😄
When you buy one of my books or mini books, I would genuinely love to hear from you.
Tell me what you thought.
Tell me what was useful.
Tell me what challenged you.
And yes, please leave a review. Reviews are enormously valuable to an independent writer and small business, and I would appreciate yours very much.
If you need more information about any of the resources before choosing one, get in touch with TFC. We can guide you towards the material that is most appropriate for what you are looking for.
But most importantly:
Don't leave the books sitting there.
I wrote them to be opened.
I wrote them to be written on.
I wrote them to be questioned.
I wrote them to be returned to.
I wrote them as companions for real life … including my own.
So please, please, please...
Go and use them.
Marcia
